The Elizabethton Cyclones take the field before last week’s game against Sullivan South. This week when the Cyclones take the field at Sullivan Central, Elizabethton will be looking to do something that hasn’t been done since 1951 and that is to complete the regular season with a perfect 10-0 mark.
With all the talented athletes that have passed through the halls of EHS, its remarkable that the 2019 team can leave a legacy that only one other team has been able to achieve.
The Cyclones game is not the only major game on tap for tonight as the Happy Valley Warriors make the trip to South Greene looking to wrap up the Region 1 2-A title with a win.
However, the Hampton Bulldogs will be keeping an open ear to the score as if the Warriors cannot overcome the Rebels, the Bulldogs will capture the title coming on the heels of their upset win over the Rebels a couple of weeks ago.
Hampton, meanwhile, will be looking to keep the train rolling right along looking to finish their season with an 8-2 record with a win over the visiting Cosby Eagles on Senior Night.
Up on Roan Mountain, the Cloudland Highlanders will be battling for win number three in a row as they host Sullivan North for the regular-season finale after their big win in Johnson County last week.
The Unaka Rangers make a long trip to Sunbright to wrap up a disappointing regular season before resetting their record to 0-0 as they head into post-season play next week with a road trip.
All games kick-off at 7:30 pm.
