BLOUNTVILLE – The Cloudland Jr. Highlanders were hoping to keep their title hopes alive in winner’s bracket action during the Tiger Invitational being played at Blountville Middle School.
Unfortunately, the ‘Landers butted heads with a middle school team that consistently has a strong team in the Holston Eagles and came up short by a 39-23 score.
Cloudland couldn’t seem to buy a bucket in the first three quarters of play scoring only three in the first, four in the second, and three in the third.
However, that all changed in the fourth period when the boys from Roan Mountain sank 14 points in the stanza to make the game more respectable in the end.
Hayden Arnett and Landon Hughes led the Jr. ‘Landers in the game by scoring six points each. Cam Stines pitched in with four points while Eli Morgan and Dylan McClellan dropped in two points each.
Cloudland finished the tournament with an 0-2 ledger being dropped to the loser’s bracket by Happy Valley earlier in the week.
