Star Photo/Amber Wadovick This is not the first year Happy Valley Elementary received the state-wide distinction, making the occasion especially memorable for the staff there.
The Carter County School Board honored its reward schools during their October board meeting, including Happy Valley and Valley Forge Elementary schools. Several other schools missed the distinction by only a tenth of a point.
