While the air outside has cooled considerably in the last couple of weeks, the water was just right at the Elizabethton High School swimming pool as the Cyclones hosted Avery County for a swim meet on Tuesday evening.
It was a clean sweep for both the boys’ and girls’ teams for Elizabethton giving the Cyclones the team win as well with a 116-60 victory.
The Lady Cyclones accumulated 86 of those points during the girls’ competition to only 39 for Avery County.
In boys’ team results, the Cyclones swam to a 30-21 win over the visiting Viking team from Newland, North Carolina.
The next meet on the slate is a middle school showdown tonight at the Elizabethton pool as the Jr. Cyclones host Church Hill. This will be only the second meet ever for the middle school program.
The start time for tonight is 5:30 pm.
