Unaka Elementary provides a Veterans Day meal for Veterans and their families after school on Monday, November 11th. They had over 75 Veterans and their family members attend. Mrs. Bobbie Frazier was the brains behind the Veterans Day meal. Student council members served the Veterans and their families. UES also had help from student volunteers, PTO, and donations from Dino’s Restaurant, Pizza Inn, Pizza Hut, and Food City. Students made cards and posters, a parent made two handmade items for door prizes, our Carter Cares program led the Pledge of Allegiance and handed out dog tags to each Veteran made by students. The girls and boys basketball team also came by to thank the Veterans.
