Emma Jean Cornett Harmon

Emma Jean Cornett Harmon, 87, passed away Friday, November 8, 2019, at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Jeff Henson, 1410 Trafford Lane, Savannah, Ga., 31410.
Emma Jean was a native of Carter County, having moved to Savannah in 2016. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Annie Cornett.
Emma Jean had been an employee of Magnavox and retired from North American Rayon Corporation. She was a member of Valley Forge United Methodist Church in Elizabethton.
Emma Jean enjoyed spending a lot of time in downtown Elizabethton. Many of the merchants she knew first-hand and they knew her on a first-name basis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Dallas Wayne Cornett, and four brothers, Albert Carter Cornett, Charles James “Baldy” Cornett, “Latcheye” Howard Edward Cornett and Billy Bob Cornett.
Survivors include two sisters, Earlene Cornett Phillips and husband, Roy, and Joyce Ann Cornett Henson and husband, Jeff; a brother, Floyd “Meatball” Cornett and wife, Gloria; and a special niece, Lisa Marie Roberts Jones. Several other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive.
It was her wish to be cremated.
A memorial service will be held at a much later date.
