Dr. Edward John Waligroski

Dr. Edward John Waligroski, 92, of Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, November 16, 2019, at his residence. He was born November 11, 1927 in Mahwah, N.J., to the late Stanley and Mary Molinska Waligroski.
Dr. Waligroski was a graduate of St. Lawrence University in New York and received his Dental Degree from St. Louis University in St. Louis, Mo. He served in the United States Army. He practiced for 30 years in Bridgeton, N.J. He enjoyed coaching Connie Mack baseball and other sports. He was also an avid golfer.
He and Patsy moved to Beech Mountain, N.C., where he served on the Town Counsel and was a member of the Beech Mountain Fire Department. They moved to Elizabethton 13 years ago. He was a member of the Dental Association. Dr. Waligroski was a member of First United Methodist Church, Elizabethton.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Ann Waligroski, who passed away October 13, 1996.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 64 years, Patsy Hilt Waligroski; two sons, James Edward (Janice) Waligroski, Bridgeton, N.J., and Gregg Andrew Waligroski, Boulder, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 23, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ray Amos officiating. Music will be provided by Deborah Knapp, soloist, and David Arney, organist. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service hour at 1 p.m. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Avalon Hospice for the excellent care he received.
