By Karlee Lloyd
Not all heroes wear a cape. Some of them are right in front of us; however, we just do not see them. Misty Lloyd is one such hero. She is a hard working, respectful, and caring person. She is the mother to Karlee and Bryson Lloyd, wife to Aaron Lloyd, Dental Assistant to others, and much more to so many more. She loves helping and caring for people in the workplace as well as in her day to day life. She has been married for 23 years, has been working as a dental assistant for years, and has been a mom for 14 years. In this time frame, she has been able to do and accomplish many things.
Forrest Gump stated, “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what your gonna get,” and that is true for Misty when she found out about a family medical condition that she carried with her. Although it has had a big impact on her life, she has taught herself how to overcome the day to day struggles that it has brought on her. This setback has not hindered her in any way and without it, she would be the same person she is to this day.
In her free time, she loves to bake cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and just about everything else she can find! She is someone everyone can look up to. That is why she is my muse, mentor, mother, and inspiration.
This story is part of a series of articles from Michael Grindstaff’s Language Arts Class at Elizabethton High School.
Students were asked to write about inspirational people in their lives. The Elizabethton Star is proud to share these with our readers.
