Alice Marie “Sissy” Hyatt

Alice Marie “Sissy” Hyatt, 83, of Elizabethton, passed away Monday, November 25, 2019, at her daughter’s residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. Hyatt was a lifelong resident of Elizabethton and was a retired CNA at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. She was the daughter of the late Alma Lyons and Jady Ward.
Mrs. Hyatt was a member of Keenburg Free Will Baptist Church and attended Fellowship Community Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Hyatt, who passed away June 17, 2008; a brother, Delmar Ward; and a half sister, Nyoka Ensor.
Survivors include her children: a daughter, Karen Colbaugh and husband Doug, Elizabethton, and a son, Bobby Hyatt and wife Tammy, Johnson City; grandchildren: granddaughter, Jessica Lewis and husband Daniel, Greeneville; granddaughter, Amanda Eller and husband Richard, Elizabethton; grandson, Justin Colbaugh and wife Brittany, Elizabethton; grandson, Conner Hyatt; and granddaughter, Abigail Hyatt, Johnson City; great-grandchildren, Calen, Jackson, Riley, Gideon and Brennan Lewis and Gunnar Eller; three siblings, Diana Carden, Jimmy and J.D. Ward; brothers-in-law, Kenneth Hyatt and Luther Bare; sisters-in-law, Crickett Hyatt and Rae Daniels; special niece, Lois Ann Holmes; all her special friends at Elizabethton Senior Citizens Center; in addition to many other beloved friends.
The funeral service for Alice Marie “Sissy” Hyatt will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, November 29, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mark Street and Pastor Ken Hauser officiating. Music will be provided by Rick Sweeney. The graveside service and interment will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, November 30, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Doug Colbaugh, Justin Colbaugh, Richard Eller, Daniel Lewis, Conner Hyatt and Calen Lewis. The family would like to express a heartfelt “Thank You” to the staff of Avalon Hospice. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of her daughter, Karen Colbaugh. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:50 p.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
