Resident upset with Veterans Day speech

To the Editor:
I attended the Veterans Day ceremony this year and was appalled at the lack of preparedness by Councilman Bill Carter. He made a 20-minute speech about what the City government has done for the town instead of what really mattered — the VETERANS.
His recycled speech from a few years ago was boring, more of a city council/budget type agenda, and completely omitted what this day is truly about. It was obvious this was thrown together at the last minute.
Our local veterans deserve much better than this. I was in the crowd and most were visibly upset and felt dishonored. Veterans Day is about veterans, not how much the City Council has donated in the past.

Sincerely,
