Zion Baptist

Zion Baptist Church, 1982 Gap Creek Road, will present “Christmas Comes to Detroit Louie” Saturday and Sunday at 6 p.m. both days.

“We are proud to present this popular play again after 10 years,” said a church spokesman.

New Liberty

New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church continues a month-long Christmas celebration with the church choir presenting Christmas musical selections during the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday. Also, the New Liberty Kid will present Christmas music.

At 6 p.m. the Christmas program “The ABC’s of Christmas” will be presented during the evening worship service. Also, Christmas music will be presented by Tammy Cole and Ava Rogers.

The pastor, the Rev. Nick Colbaugh, invites everyone to attend the services Sunday in celebration of the Christmas season and the birth of Christ.

The church is located at 113 Peters Hollow Road near the Stoney Creek Volunteer Fire Dept.

Willow Springs

The Willow Springs Baptist Church Choir will present the cantata “Song of Joy” Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service. The choir is directed by Bobby Smith.

The church is located at 544 Willow Springs Road. Dr. Kenneth Jordan is pastor.

Everyone is invited.

Calvary Baptist

The children’s Christmas musical “Follow the Star” will be presented Sunday at 6 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church.

The musical “Come Let Us Adore Him” will be presented by the Adult Choir at 11 a.m. Dec. 22.

A Christmas Eve service will be held Dec. 24 at 5 p.m.

The public is invited.

The choir at Doe River Baptist Church will present “Come Let Us Adore” Sunday at the 11 a.m. worship service.

Grace Baptist

“Love Made A Way” will be presented by the Grace Baptist Church Choir Sunday at 9 a.m.

The children’s pre-school choir will sing “Good News Ahead…the Signs of Christmas” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Little Doe Baptist

“All Is Well” will be presented by the choir of Little Doe Baptist Church, Butler, Sunday at the 11 a.m. service.

A candlelight communion service will be observed Dec. 22 at 6 p.m.

First Free Will

The Children of First Free Will Baptist Church will present a Christmas play Sunday at 6 p.m.

Sunday, Dec. 22, the adult choir will present a Christmas cantata at the 10:45 a.m. worship service.

Carter Christian

Sunday at 6 p.m. at Carter Christian, the “Hands of Praise Black Light Ministry” will do a presentation and there will be special music by some of the church family.

Refreshments will be enjoyed later.

Christmas Memories

Making Christmas Memories is the theme of a Christmas Organ Recital by David Arney, which will be Friday, Dec. 20, at 7 p.m. at First United Methodist Church.

The recital will feature the sacred sounds of Christmas in a candle-lit sanctuary.

First United Methodist is located at 325 E. E St.

Big Spring

A piano celebration titled “The Birthday of a King” and featuring Scott Reynolds, pianist, will be held Sunday, Dec. 22, at 6 p.m. at Big Spring Church of Christ.

The church is located at 1106 Gap Creek Road, and the public is invited.

Roan Street

The youth of Roan Street Free Will Baptist Church will present the program “Teach the Children the True Meaning of Christmas” Sunday at the 11 a.m. service.

The church is located at 820 N. Roan St.

Simerly Creek Believer’s Fellowship

“Come and See What’s Happening In the Barn!,” a Christmas play which tells the story of Jesus and His love, will be presented Dec. 14 and 15 at 6 p.m. at Simerly Creek Believer’s Fellowship Church, Hampton.

The church is located at 806 Simerly Creek Road, and the public is invited.

Siam Baptist

The children’s choir of Siam Baptist Church will present the musical “CAKE – Christmas Acts of Kindness Experiment” Sunday at 6 p.m.

The musical, created by Jeff and Dana Anderson, focuses on how a homework assignment during Christmas break changes the way students experience Christmas forever. 

Siam Baptist is located at 2414 Siam Road, Elizabethton. 

The Rev. Dean Smith, interim pastor, invites the public to attend.

CCCMF Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Carter County Christian Men’s Fellowship is Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 7 p.m. at Borderview Christian Church, 1338 Bristol Highway. David Siebenaler, minister at Valley Forge Christian Church, will be the featured speaker. He will present the sermon  “A Tale of Two Kings.”   

The worship leader is Scott Fisher with Ray Don Markland and Scott Reynolds as accompanists.

Blue Springs

An outdoor live nativity scene will be displayed at the Blue Springs Christian Church Dec. 20 and 21. The nativity scene will be on display from 5 to 8 p.m. Cars may park in the church parking lot.

Also, coffee, hot chocolate and cider will be available in the church fellowship hall.

Everyone is invited by the congregation and minister, Richard Thomason.

Unaka Baptist

The Brotherhood at Unaka Baptist Church will have a country-style breakfast Saturday from 7 to 10 a.m.

The menu will include biscuits, gravy, eggs, two kinds of sausage, bacon, and hash brown potatoes. Other items are available on request.

The cost is $7.

Also available for purchase is country store crafts, baked items, and canned goods.

The public is invited to attend and enjoy the food and fellowship.

Valley Forge Free Will

The Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church Praise Choir will present the Christmas drama and cantata “O’ Night Divine” Sunday at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m.

The holiday musical “It All Happened In The Country” will be presented by the Valley Forge Youth Choir Wednesday at 7 p.m.

First Presbyterian

Sunday’s 11 a.m. worship service at First Presbyterian Church, Elizabethton, will feature lessons and carols for Christmas, including scripture readings and readings from different cultures around the world. The service will also feature music from the hand bell and chancel choirs as well as various members of the congregation.

An Education Hour will be held at 9:45 a.m.

Other opportunities of the week include: Meditation at 7 p.m. Wednesday; Thursdays with Jesus group from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon each Thursday; Exercise Class from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday; and yoga from 10 a.m. to 12 noon Friday.
