Dorothy Bernice Forbes Honeycutt, 85, Hampton passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.  She was born June 11, 1934, in Banner Elk, North Carolina to the late Marshall & Florence Buck Forbes. She had lived her entire life in Carter County. She attended East Tennessee State University. Mrs. Honeycutt was retired from Cannon Memorial Hospital, Banner Elk, North Carolina, after 17 years as an admission coordinator in the ER. She also was employed at Sycamore Shoals Hospital for several years. Mrs. Honeycutt was a member of Rittertown Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Charles B. Honeycutt, who passed away January 26, 2006, by a granddaughter: Jennifer Brock and a sister: Peggy Schillforth.

Survivors include her children: Kathleen Williams, Walland, Tenn., Gary Guinn & wife Joyce, Hampton and Brad Guinn & wife Amy, Walland, Tenn. Two Grandchildren: Gavin and Zach Guinn. One Sister: Barbara Wolfe, Franklin, North Carolina. One Brother: Charles Wolfe, Silva North Carolina.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Stout officiating. Her son: Pastor Brad Guinn will give a eulogy. Music will be provided by Carol Roberts and Chandrea Shell, Soloist. Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2019, in the Rittertown Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends.  The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Melanie Honeycutt and the staff at Hillview Health Center, members of the Carter County Rescue Squad, and the Staff of Johnson City Medical Center. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Rittertown Baptist Church or Hale Community Ministries. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at our website www.memorialfcelizabethton.com.
