Double-overtime heartbreaker… Lady Bulldog frosh push Dobyns-Bennett to the limit, fall 66-55

HAMPTON – For 36 minutes the Hampton Lady Bulldog freshman team gave the Lady Indians of Dobyns-Bennett all they wanted and more.
It was the last four minutes that did in the Lady ‘Dogs who saw D-B go on a 13-0 run to start the second overtime period to take a 66-55 win.
The game was a dandy from the opening tip to the final horn as Hampton showed no backing down from the Lady Indians.
Hampton managed to take a 23-22 advantage at the intermission behind tough defense pressure on the Lady Indians. Madison McClain had seven points in the half to help the Lady ‘Dogs build the lead.
Linsey Jenkins also contributed with six points in the half.
In the second half, the Lady Indians turned to their post player Macy Peters who took over the game on her way to a 26-point effort to lead her team to the win.
Jenkins had an outstanding game finishing with 23 points to lead the Lady Bulldogs. McClain contributed 14 points in the contest.
Ryleigh Nickels and Chloe Watson added seven points each for Hampton. Bre Davis collected four points.
