Every game in the Three Rivers Conference is important even if it’s one of the opening conference games of the season.
The Happy Valley Lady Warriors managed to pick up an important road win on Friday when Coach Thomas Gouge’s team took down the Lady Longhorns of Johnson County by a 46-42 score.
Neither team could get going offensively in the early going as Happy Valley managed to take an 18-11 lead after the first 16 minutes of the game.
Both teams made adjustments at the half and came out with a little more offensive presence as Happy Valley did enough to take the four-point victory.
Kadie Bailey and Shayln Whitson led the charge for the Lady Warriors as Bailey scored 13 and Whitson 12 in the win. Autumn Henegar also pitched in with eight points and Jaiden Clark dropped in seven points.
Casey Campbell buried a trey for Happy Valley while Olivia Absher (2) and Kenzie Ramey (1) closed out the scoring for the Lady Warriors.
Emmy Miller led Johnson County with 13 points in a losing cause. Taylor Cox finished with 11.
