FROM STAFF REPORTS
The Hampton Jr. Bulldogs picked up a win in their final game of pool play in the Daniel Boone Middle School Christmas tourney in Gray on Tuesday.
Even though it wasn’t the type of game the Jr. Bulldogs are accustomed to playing, a win is a win and Hampton hopes that their 37-28 win over Robinson will only serve to light a fire under the team heading into bracket play Wednesday night.
Chance Point led the attack for the Jr. ‘Dogs with 11 points in the win and Geno Carrico tossed in seven points, five coming in the last period of play.
Dylan Trivett and Hayden Campbell totaled six points apiece in the win with J.J. McEleaya and Michael Anspaugh chipping in with four and three points respectively.
Nigel Vidale led Robinson with 10 points in the defeat while Ben Smith added nine points.
Hampton was slated to play Ridgeview with the opening of bracket play on Wednesday night while another Carter County school in Cloudland was also slated to play against East Ridge Wednesday.
