A Christmas Eve Midnight Mass will be held Tuesday at St. Thomas Episcopal Church. The service will begin at 11 p.m. and will feature worship though music and scripture readings.

“St. Thomas has been celebrating Christmas Midnight Mass for years and years,” said Kathy Smith, the church’s senior warden. “We welcome the community to a wonderful time and place to celebrate Christmas. Musicians and vocalists from throughout the city and county will come together for this annual celebration. We are overjoyed to sing the old English Christmas carols as well as music and song from Appalachian tradition,” said Smith.

The Rev. Timothy Holder, pastor and priest at St. Thomas, said the congregation would be joined by Loretta Bowers, Teresa Bowers Parker, David Arney, Catherine Edwards Bunter, Joey Hildebran, and many others for the midnight mass.
