Teresa Marie Hughes

Teresa Marie Hughes, 54, of Elizabethton, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born August 22, 1965 in Fredericksburg, Va., but had lived in Elizabethton most of her life.
Teresa was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. She was employed as a CNA at Agape Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Johnson City.
She was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Hughes, and her father, William Dallas Hughes.
Survivors include her daughter, Avonda Townsend; her grandchildren, Keely Johnson and Dagan Walker; her mother and step-father, Lucille and Daniel Jones; her step-mother, Helen Hughes; a brother, David William Hughes; four sisters, Betty Jean Smith and husband Brian, Mary Charlene Price, Melissa Mae Fredericks and husband George and April Farmer and husband Dustin; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Randy Sams.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 19, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Alan Evans officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of the 2200 Wing of Johnson City Medical Center, the staff of Agape Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Sarah and Evelyn. It was her wish to be cremated. Friends may also visit with the family at the residence of her mother and step-father, Lucille and Daniel Jones.
