Local Chamber participates in live watch party

The Elizabethton Carter County Chamber of Commerce was one of 13 Chambers selected across the country to participate in the live watch party for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s annual State of American Business Address on Thursday, Jan. 9. There were four larger Chambers, five smaller Chambers, and four international Chambers selected for the watch party. The watch party was attended by Chamber membership and staff at the TCAT.

U.S. Chamber CEO Tom Donohue delivered his 21st annual American Business Address. In the address, he spoke about new and important developments in the business world. He also talked about opportunities and challenges the business community might face in the upcoming year.

Following his address, U.S. Chamber President Suzanne Clark facilitated a Faces of Business fireside chat with Revolution Chairman and CEO and America Online Co-founder Steve Case and a panel of American entrepreneurs. They all talked about their businesses and the challenges they had starting them. They finished with sharing the most important thing they learned and giving advice for future entrepreneurs.
