The Unaka girls played their best defensive game of the season Monday night against the South Greene Rebels however the Lady Rebels held on
for a 59-51 win.
Unaka head coach Kenneth Chambers said, “We only started working on it yesterday. We got in foul trouble early but the bench players came in and stepped it up.”
Even though the Rangers played the second half in foul trouble, they would not lay down. Double teaming the ball and forcing the Rebels to commit turnovers, Unaka battled back to with six with 4:19 to play in the game.
But that was as close as they could get.  Unaka was forced to foul and South Greene connected on nine free throws down the stretch.

Unaka hit nine threes from long range to keep them in the game led by Jady Whitehead with 17-points.  Lyndie Ramsey scored 13 for Unaka,
but only played about half of the game.
Addison Williams was the high scorer for the Rebels with 18. Haley Kells scored 16.

When you’re hot you’re hot and when you’re not, you’re not and Monday night the Rangers were as cold as a winter Stoney Creek late
night.
Nothing went right for Unaka and they could only score ten points in the first half and only hit twelve baskets the entire game.
Fox a 6’5 All American could not be stopped for the Rebels, he scored 20 points and hauled down 14 rebounds and blocked six shots leading South
Greene to a 54-36 win.
Will Sexton was the leading scorer for Unaka with 14 points, Ryan Johnson scored 12.  Freshman Jonathan Campbell was
next with three points.
Unaka played a good first quarter and lead 8-7 at the stop, but a two-point performance in the second while giving up 15 was a deficit they could not overcome.
The Rebels outscored Unaka 14-13 in the third but the free throws and the lay-ups by Fox in the final period kept South Greene from being reached.
Along with Fox 20, Bailey scored 12, and Carter hit 11.
