It was senior night on Stoney Creek Tuesday as the Rangers hosted the Sullivan North Golden Raiders.

It was senior night on Stoney Creek Tuesday as the Rangers hosted the Sullivan North Golden Raiders.
The Unaka girls pulled off a big win but the boys suffered a 76-51 point loss.
Coach Kenneth Chambers’ Lady Rangers put another “W” in the win column with a 53-24 win over the Lady Raiders. Lyndie Ramsey led all scorers with 19 points in a game that saw Unaka put it out of reach early.
Unaka scored 15 points in the first quarter while North’s only basket came with eleven seconds left in the period.
An explosive second quarter gave the Rangers a 33-11 lead at halftime.
Senior Lilie Kiser played a great defensive game for Unaka and put up six points. Kiki Forney scored nine for the Lady Rangers – all threes.
Sahara Bates was high score for North with eight.
Chambers played all the girls on the team in the second half as they outscored North 20-13. The Lady Rangers plays North Greene Friday night at Unaka.
When Sullivan North took one of the big men out of the game, another big man came off the bench.
Unaka just could not rebound or box out the power of the Golden Raiders center and forwards. North broke the inside game open after hitting three treys and put up 20 points in the opening quarter.
The Rangers played even with North in the second as Will Sexton, Ryan Johnson, and Joe Slagle all hit threes to outscore North 16-14.
After the break, the Raiders were on fire as nothing went wrong for them as they tossed in 29 points to Unaka’s ten in the third.
North built a 63-35 lead as Coach Dugger pulled out his starters and sent in the second team. The Raiders went on to win 76-51.
Sexton led Unaka with 11, Ramsey followed with 10 and Johnson scored nine.
North was led by Pruitt with 21, Williams scored 15 and Hill finished with 13.
