Ricky Lee Soliday, 62, of Elizabethton, died on Saturday, February 15, 2020, at Johnson City Medical Center after an extended illness. He attended school at Happy Valley. He worked as an independent contractor and mason.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Bertha Soliday (Ohio), three brothers, Walter and Lonnie Soliday (Ohio) and Edward Soliday (Elizabethton), and two sisters, Rhoda Arkenberg and Arlene Blair (Ohio).
He is survived by one son, Nathanael Soliday, of the home; his wife, Pat Soliday (Erwin); three step-children, Herb, John and Marsha Shasteen (Johnson City); and one paternal grandchild, Bentley Soliday (Elizabethton).
He is also survived by two brothers, William Soliday (Ohio) and Don Soliday (Pennsylvania), and two sisters, Stella Dourn (Ohio) and Pam Freeman (Newport, Tenn.) There are two children by a previous marriage, Jonathan and Julie Soliday (Newport), and three step-children, Thomas, Henry and Miranda Flesher. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
There will be a memorial service for Mr. Soliday at the fellowship hall of Upper Gap Creek Freewill Baptist Church, 1380 Dry Creek Road, Elizabethton, on Thursday, February 20, between 6 and 8 p.m. Friends and family are welcome for an informal gathering.
