Mary Lorena Leonard Neatherly, 95, Elizabethton, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital after an extended illness. She was born July 31, 1924 in Carter County to the late Harry H. and Della Howell Leonard.
Mrs. Neatherly was a graduate of Happy Valley High School and a retired self-employed seamstress. She enjoyed working in her flowers. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin F. Neatherly; a sister, Juanita Tucker; and a brother, James Leonard.
Survivors include several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 25, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Pastor Forrest Widby officiating. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service.
