Investigators with the Carter County Sheriff’s Office have identified a body that was found near Cecil Vanhuss Road on Tuesday.

Joseph Lee Miller, 37, was found dead in a field at approximately 1 p.m. Investigators say there were no obvious signs of injury to his body and are awaiting an autopsy report to determine the cause of death.

Deputies found Miller’s vehicle off of Charity Hill Road on Tuesday morning. The vehicle was damaged and appeared to have been involved in the single car accident. Investigators believe Miller left the scene of the accident and walked to where his body was found later that day.
