More than 160 career and technical education (CTE) instructors will spend a week in Elizabethton March 9-13 attending the 6th Annual National Coalition of Certification Centers (NC3) Train-the-Trainer sessions at TCAT Elizabethton.

John Lee, NC3 industry training coordinator at TCAT Elizabethton, said the instructors will come from high school, college, technical school or industrial training facility throughout the U.S.

At the end of the program, the instructors will receive a certification in their area of training. Then they can use that certificate to teach and certify their own students back home. The certificates are recognized worldwide.

Since regular TCAT Elizabethton students will be on break, visiting instructors will have full access to classroom and shop facilities at TCAT Elizabethton. NC3 classes will meet from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at TCAT Elizabethton’s main campus, located at 426 Highway 91 North, across from the Elizabethton Municipal Airport.

TCAT Elizabethton was designated an NC3 Regional Training Center several years ago and has been host to visiting CTE instructors ever since.
