Amber Hope Tipton

Amber Hope Tipton, 71, Johnson City, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was a daughter of the late Ward and Bessie Bailey Lewis.
Hope was a registered nurse and previously employed at Johnson City Medical Center for over 30 years. She was a member of Green Mountain Freewill Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Hope was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Roy Tipton; sisters, Jincie Seay and Abbie Powell; brothers, James and Charles Lewis; brothers-in-law, Cecil and Lynn Tipton; and sisters-in-law, Lucille Rowe and Martha Shaffer.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, Roy “Eddie” Tipton; grandson, Kris Stennett; great-granddaughter, Kailea; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and Tony Pate; brothers, John, Wayne and Frank Lewis; sisters-in-law, Ann Lewis, Eileen Blevins, Jean Tipton, Edna Harrell and Naomi Workman; brother-in-law, Tom Powell; special friend of over 50 years, Brenda Davidson; and her many nursing friends. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, March 13, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Danny Blevins and Mr. Richard Murray officiating. Music will be provided by Tawana Holland. The graveside service and interment will be at noon Saturday, March 14, at Roselawn Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, will be Rocky Cochran, Sam Cole, Kenny Davidson, Charlie Harless, Gerald Harrell, Billy Harrell, Randy Lewis, Eric Lewis, David Seay and Kris Stennett. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Niswonger Children’s Hospital Pediatric Oncology Unit, 400 N. State of Franklin, Johnson City, TN 37604. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 11:15 a.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
