‘Dog mania… Hampton win brings a wild celebration to VanHuss-White Gym

As the horn sounded, players and fans flooded the floor at VanHuss-White Gym to celebrate the Bulldogs big Class A Sectional win over Harriman that sends Hampton to the TSSAA State Class A Championship next week.
As the final seconds ticked off the clock and the Hampton Bulldogs had a state berth in hand, ‘Dog mania took over as players, cheerleaders, coaches, family, friends, and fans took to the court to celebrate the big 39-point win over Harriman.
The overflow crowd had a big part in the win as with every basket, the roar continued to escalate as the entire gym was feeling a trip to Murfreesboro was in sight.
There were plenty of hugs, hand and chest bumps, and high fives going around as moms loved on their sons, dads rubbed the top of their son’s head, and of course, grandparents may have shed a tear or two.
After all, Hampton basketball is all about family and the family celebrated the way one is supposed to when accomplishing what the Bulldogs did on this night.
