“During this difficult time with COVID-19, we are continuing to serve the Tri-Cities region and their bone, joint and muscle needs,” says T. Lisle Whitman, M.D., orthopedic surgeon and practice president of Appalachian Orthopedics. “We know many patients have concerns visiting an ER or traditional urgent care, and our clinics and Orthopedic Urgent Care locations remain open to provide immediate treatment for patients suffering from acute orthopedic injuries and conditions as well as to alleviate some strain on our health system.”
Patients can also walk into Appalachian Orthopedics’ Bristol Midway, Johnson City and Kingsport Orthopedic Urgent Care clinics Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
In alignment with the CDC and Tennessee Department of Health, Appalachian Orthopedics is taking the following precautions:
  • A screening process has been set up for patients to go through upon arrival to keep sick or at-risk patients out of the office.
  • We have systems in place to avoid crowded waiting rooms.
  • We sterilize every exam room between patient visits.
“We will continue to closely monitor the recommendations set forth by the CDC and Tennessee Department of Health to ensure we’re doing everything we can to keep our patients and staff healthy,” says Dr. Whitman.
