Fane “Foot” Bowers

Fane “Foot” Bowers, 81, of the Blue Springs Community, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home.
A native of Elizabethton, he was the son of the late Hicks Bowers and Addie Pearl Wilson Bowers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley Allen Bowers and Gene Bowers and wife Betty Bowers; a sister and brother-in-law, Maude and Bedford Netherton; and a sister-in-law, Gwen Bowers.
Fane was a man that would do anything for anyone, from helping his family to taking people to work when the weather was bad or mowing a yard. He was of the Christian faith.
Fane retired from Summers-Taylor after driving a concrete mixer for over 40 years and met a lot of people during those years.
Those left to cherish his memory include two brothers, Ernie Bowers and Shirrell Bowers and wife Judy; two sisters, Dorothy Beard and husband Alvin and Gaylene Woodby and husband Steve; a sister-in-law, Wanda Bowers; and two special friends, Frances Taylor and Betty Ingram. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Friends and family may call between the hours of 2 and 7 p.m. Thursday, April 16, in the Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, or at the residence of a brother, Ernie Bowers, 104 Pearl Bowers Road, Elizabethton, at any time. A graveside service to celebrate the life of Fane Bowers will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, April 17, in the Pearl Bowers Cemetery with Pastor Randall Carrier officiating. Active pallbearers will be Douglas Woodby, Dakota Wilson, Catlin Hill, Gary Grindstaff and Brandon Grindstaff. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Friday.
