Velda Nidiffer Gregg

Velda Nidiffer Gregg, 94, Elizabethton, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020, at Hermitage Health Center following an extended illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Roy and Amelia Ensor Nidiffer.
Velda was retired from Peters Jewelry after 42 years of service. She was a member of Dungan Chapel Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Gregg; three sisters, Margaret Lyons, Veulah Stout and Normalene Nidiffer; and four brothers, R.C., Kyle, Howard and Ernest Nidiffer.
Survivors include her brothers, Chalmer (Norma) Nidiffer, Nashville, Tenn., and Kenneth (Linda) Nidiffer, Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Vergil Stout; two nieces, Shelby Jean Parlier and Norma Buckles; and her sisters-in-law, Virginia Nidiffer, Marsa Nidiffer and Shirley Nidiffer.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday, April 17, in the McLaney  Cemetery, Watauga, with Mr. Brent Nidiffer, minister, and Mr. John Gregg officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the staff of Hermitage Health Center for the excellent care she received. The family will have a Celebration of Life Service at a later date. Friends may register their presence at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Thursday or Friday morning.
