Kay Frances Lewis Pierce, 84, Hampton, passed away Friday, April 17, 2020, at her residence following an extended illness with her family by her side.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Ressie Hazelwood Lewis.
Kay was a 1954 graduate of Hampton High School. She was a retired sales clerk at Parks-Belk. She was a member of Union Baptist Church for 69 years. Her hobbies were going to Myrtle Beach, Gatlinburg, and shopping.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob, Pat and Kyle Lewis; a sister, Sandra Isakson; and a son-in-law, Jerry Heaton.
Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Ralph Norman Pierce; her daughters, Debra  (Randy) Payne, Elizabethton, Diana (Dean) Maxwell, Laurel Bloomery, Tenn., and Donna Heaton, Hampton; a grandson, Michael L. Payne; her sister, Mary (Harold) Parish, Hampton; her brother, Eugene (Renee) Lewis, Hampton; several nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Jewel McCloud.
The graveside service will be conducted Monday in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery with the Dr. Larry Montgomery officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Oliver, Randall Vines and Charlie Johnson. The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to Amedisys Hospice, Emily, Chris, Stacy, Kayla and Donna.
