Ezell Brings In Kelly Post as Sixth Member of 2020 Recruiting Class

JOHNSON CITY – Head coach Brittney Ezell announced today the addition of ETSU Women’s Basketball’s first transfer in their 2020 recruiting class, fifth-year collegiate guard, and Fayetteville, N.C. native Kelly Post.

“Kelly brings a multitude of toughness, experience, and passion to the program,” Ezell said. “She is a leader in every facet of the word and her work ethic is extraordinary. Kelly fits a need in our program perfectly and we are excited to have her join us in Johnson City.”

 

The 5-foot-6 graduate transfer attended Village Christian Academy and scored over 2,000 career points while swiping over 1,000 steals and amassing nearly 1,000 assists and rebounds as well.

Following her acclaimed high school career, Post enrolled at Division I Campbell University, appearing in six games as a freshman before moving on to Division II Mount Olive.

While with the Trojans over the next three seasons, the Bucs newest member of the backcourt appeared in 83 games, starting 48, while piling up 337 points, 298 rebounds, 147 steals, and 154 assists to just 114 turnovers, an impressive 1.4 assist-to-turnover ratio.

ABBY CARRINGTON

Hometown: Westlake, Ohio

Position: Wing

Height: 5’10”

Ezell on Carrington: “Abby is one of the best athletes in the state of Ohio. She can score at all three levels and can defend multiple positions. Abby has a high motor, a solid basketball IQ, and possesses an extreme amount of passion for the game.  Much like Imani, her best basketball is still ahead of her. She is a high character and very intrinsically driven to achieve in all that she does.” 

 

JAKHYIA DAVIS

Hometown: Knoxville, Tenn.

High School: Bearden

Summer Team: TN Flight EYBL

Position: Center

Height: 6’3”

Mother: Natasha Davis

Ezell on Davis: “A powerful, agile lefty, Jakhyia is a physical presence whose best basketball is still ahead of her. Her skillset and footwork is deceptive and diverse. Her ability and desire to be a force on the glass fills a need for our program. Jakyhia is exactly the type of person and player that we want in our program – humble and hungry. She is a great addition to our 2020 class.”

 

CARLY HOOKS

Hometown: Atlanta, Ga.

High School: Westlake

Summer Team: FBC Kay

Position: Guard

Height: 5’8”

Ezell on Hooks: “Carly is a winner. She is a lead guard for a powerhouse high school program in Georgia and plays for one of the premier summer programs on the circuit in FBC. She can stretch a defense with her range and is crafty with the basketball in creating opportunities for others. Defensively, Carly will be another weapon as she thrives applying pressure to opposing guards. Carly wanted ETSU as much as we wanted her and we are thrilled to officially make her a Buccaneer.”

Yonge, have prepared her well to take the next step in her career. Courtney is a high character person who fit in seamlessly during the recruiting process. We are excited to add her to the Buccaneer family.”

Ezell on Williams: “Imani is a hard-nosed, gritty player. She is a blue-collar kid who plays with an incredible amount of passion. She will bring a tremendous amount of athleticism to the program and is an incredibly instinctual player, especially on the glass. She has a really high ceiling that is only enhanced by her strong character and work ethic.”
