On Monday, May 4, 2020, Kenneth H. Nave, loving husband and father of two children, passed away at the age of 93.
A native of Carter County, who made his home in Elizabethton, Kenneth was born on August 10, 1926 to William Austin Nave and Carrie Lee Treadway.
Kenneth was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and Steed Business College. He was a World War II Veteran, and was a hospital administrator for Carter County Memorial and Sycamore Shoals Hospitals.
On December 31, 1948, he married Jeanette Anderson. They raised a son, Dennis, and a daughter, Tonia.
Kenneth had a passion for painting with watercolors, especially outdoor scenes depicting the local area. He was a member of the local DAV post, and of the Hunter Memorial Baptist Church where he sang in the choir. He was known for his abundant knowledge of the Siam Community’s history.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his son, Dennis; brother, Martin; and sisters, Hallie, Geneva, Veona, Irene, Pauline and Jeanette.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; daughter, Tonia; grandson, Justin; granddaughter, Kathy; three great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Sycamore Springs Senior Living facility, especially the nurses and caregivers, for the kindness and compassion shown to Kenneth during his residence.
A private graveside service to honor the life of Kenneth Nave will be conducted at Happy Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a local food bank of your choice. Online condolences may be shared with the family on our website, www.tetrickfuneralhome.com.
