East Side Christian Church members Brandy Corbett, on the ladder, and Jay Odom works on the church’s welcome sign. They are placing a verse, Psalms 122:1, that many other churches in Carter County may well want to copy as they reopen for in-house worship services in the coming weekends. Corbett says this is the church’s first in-person service in almost eight weeks this Sunday morning at 10 AM.

One doesn’t have to travel far in Carter County to find the opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors.
Whether its a stroll on a walking path, practicing some hoops, jumping in a boat, or just enjoying the many varieties of flowers that are beginning to bloom there is something for everyone.
And while many are enjoying the outdoors, some are preparing to gather back into houses of worship even if it does mean a different approach in doing so.
For camera buffs, it’s a perfect time to get some amazing shots as Larry Souders did this week.
