Hollis F. Cable, 94, of Hampton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 17, 2020, from his home. Hollis was born in Johnson County, Tenn., to the late Chester Arthur Cable and Trula Jane Cardwell Cable. Hollis enjoyed all sports. Among those he loved were the Cincinnati Reds and the Tennessee Volunteers football and Lady Vols basketball. He also loved working outside, gardening and playing pool at the Senior Citizens Center of Elizabethton. Most of all, Hollis loved his family and the time he spent with them.
Those left to cherish his many wonderful memories include his wife of 73 years, Joyce Cable, of the home; his son, Tim Cable and wife Christinia of Jonesborough; his daughter, Valerie Cable McKinney of Johnson City; six grandchildren, Kris McKinney, Trevor Cable, Amy Love Kamp, Alison Cable Edwards, Andrea Cable and Adrianne Cable Vandiver; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
