LENOIR CITY (AP) — Officials are investigating a fatal boating accident in Tennessee.
Two men were fishing below the Fort Loudoun Dam on Sunday morning when their boat’s engine failed to start and the boat was pulled into the dam’s spillway, said Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency spokesman Matthew Cameron.
The Knoxville News Sentinel reports a Loudoun County rescue team found the body of David Morris, 50, of Clinton, about three-fourths of a mile downstream. Bystanders rescued the other boater, who was treated at a hospital and released.
