Nancy L. Clark, 82, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went to Heaven to be with her beloved husband, Roger, on Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at Hermitage Health and Rehab Center of Elizabethton. Nancy was born in Johnson County, Tenn., to the late Wayne William Smith and Kate Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of 45 years, Roger William Clark.
Nancy was a loving, kind, generous lady, devoted to her family and she absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who returned that love to her. She was a farmer and a homemaker and she loved her cows.  She would bring them and the other animals into her home to “save them.” Nancy raised tobacco, canned, quilted, crocheted, sewed and loved playing the piano. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and loved working in the nursery at Immanuel. Nancy loved all children!
Those left to cherish her many wonderful memories include her children, Vickie Lewis and husband Richard, Roger “Brad” Clark and wife Rhonda, Wayne Clark, and Robin Williams and husband Charles; her grandchildren, Dr. Amanda Nangea, Joshua Williams, Phillip Lewis, Nancy Brown, Julie Carroll, Jennie Clark, Roger Clark and Victoria Clark; several great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Doris Clark, Jerry Smith, Janet Harkey, Dixie Snyder and Roger Smith. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
A graveside service to celebrate the life of Nancy L. Clark will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Pastor Tim Tapp officiating. Music will be provided by Jerry Barnett. Active pallbearers will be Josh Williams, Richard Lewis, Roger Clark and Wayne Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Snyder, Phillip Lewis, Jerry Smith, Roger Smith and Roger “Brad” Clark. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Happy Valley Memorial Park at 10:50 a.m. Saturday. The family would like to especially thank the nurses and staff at Hermitage Health Care and Rehab Center of Elizabethton for the exceptional care shown to Nancy during her illness. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
