Nora Mae Mottern Carver, 64, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020, at her residence following an extended illness.
A native of Roan Mountain, she was a daughter of the late Fred J. and Hassie Mae Arnett Mottern.
Nora attended Hampton High School. In earlier years she was employed at TPI, Baker Construction, Bristol, and Summers-Taylor Inc., Elizabethton. She was of the Baptist Faith. Her hobby was her animals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Davis.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Kimberly Woodby, Jonesborough; two brothers, Jerry Mottern, Elizabethton, and Terry (Karen) Mottern, Telford; two sisters, Faye (Wayne) Ingram and Virginia Morgan, all of Elizabethton; three nephews, Danny and Tommy Ingram and Thomas Davis; and her dogs, Benny, Babe and Boomer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the Elizabethton-Carter County Animal Shelter, 253 Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643. Condolences may be sent to her son at It was her wish to be cremated and no services are planned.
