Nora Mae Mottern Carver, 64, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020, at her residence following an extended illness.
A native of Roan Mountain, she was a daughter of the late Fred J. and Hassie Mae Arnett Mottern.
Nora attended Hampton High School. In earlier years she was employed at TPI, Baker Construction, Bristol, and Summers-Taylor Inc., Elizabethton. She was of the Baptist Faith. Her hobby was her animals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Judy Davis.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Kimberly Woodby, Jonesborough; two brothers, Jerry Mottern, Elizabethton, and Terry (Karen) Mottern, Telford; two sisters, Faye (Wayne) Ingram and Virginia Morgan, all of Elizabethton; three nephews, Danny and Tommy Ingram and Thomas Davis; and her dogs, Benny, Babe and Boomer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the Elizabethton-Carter County Animal Shelter, 253 Sycamore Shoals Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643. Condolences may be sent to her son at medicwood@comcast.net. It was her wish to be cremated and no services are planned.
