Timothy Hill prides himself on accessibility.
The conservative Congressional runner said he gives his cell phone number out so people can reach him directly.
“I’ve given out my personal cell phone number for years,” he explained. “I’ve encouraged people who have a concern to call me or text me directly.”
Hill is also married and a father of two sons, as well as a small business owner in addition to his work for the past eight years with the Tennessee State House.
Hill, was born in the Tri-Cities and graduated from Tri-Cities Christian School before going on to graduate from Northeast State Community College and East Tennessee State University in public relations.
After graduating, Hill hosted “Good Morning Tri-Cities,” which discussed current events through a Tennessee point of view, on the radio for three years. During this time he also served as the visual/audio director and Sunday school teacher for his church.
In 2007 Hill headed to Washington D.C. to serve the First Congressional District as Press Secretary and Communications Director. This led to him winning the Business Journal 40 Under 40 Award.
Hill moved home in 2008 and started his own company called Right Way Marketing.
In 2012, Hill began serving in the Third State House District as a State Representative.
On his decision to run for congress, he said following Congressman Phil Roe’s retirement, he prayed on the idea with his wife.
“We didn’t take a poll and we didn’t try to cut some backroom deal, we kind of stopped everything and prayed and sought the Lord’s direction, and felt compelled to run,” he said.
Hill described himself as the “proven conservative in the race.”
“What I mean by that is I have a record that matches the very common statements of being Pro-Life, Pro-Second Amendment, Pro-Police and Pro-President Trump,” he said.
“My record in the legislature is unique in that it backs up each one of those statements. I am the only candidate in the race that has been consistently conservative and has the record to back that up.”
On why people should vote for him, Hill stressed his conservative record and also his accessibility.
“The First Congressional District deserves someone who is going to fight for our values and stand strong for President Trump and then someone that will be accessible,” he said. “What has happened in Washington D.C. is Congress has forgotten whom they work for.”
Hill said he is excited to work on behalf of the people.
