Ronald “Ron” E. Simpson, 79, of Elizabethton, received his final honors, on Thursday, August 20, 2020.
Ron was preceded in death by his son, Ronald Edward Simpson Jr.
Ron was a retired SFC Combat Engineer. He was employed as a driver for Underwood Trucking Company and Summers-Taylor.
Survivors are his loving wife, Darlene Simpson; daughter, Laura Simpson; and special family friend, Susan Hensley.
A graveside service to honor Mr. Simpson will be held at Mountain Home National Cemetery at 1 p.m. Monday, August 31. Friends and family will gather at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all those in attendance are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
