The descendants of Benjamin Clemons and William Jacob Hicks will hold a  reunion at 12 p.m. at Pinecrest Christian Church, 124 Woodland Drive, Johnson City.
Narcotics Anonymous will meet at 12:15 p.m. at the Cross Roads Building, 546 Elk Ave., Elizabethton.

The Green Pastures Group of Alcoholics Anonymous will meet at 8 p.m. at the Carter County Drug Prevention (CCDP) Building, 546 Elk Ave., Elizabethton.
• Monday, Sept. 14
The GFWC of TN Elizabethton Woman’s Club will meet at 2 p.m. at the home of Jo Voigt. Members will be working on projects for the upcoming year. All members are requested to attend as they will be determining the possibility of having to cancel the Arts and Crafts Show due to the COVID-19 pandemic and to also discuss what the future may bring for the club. The club hopes all members are healthy and doing well.
TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) will meet at First Baptist Church, 212 East F St., Elizabethton. Weigh-in begins at 5:30-6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 6:45 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend these meetings. “New Way of Life,” a 12 step based, Open Recovery Meeting, will be held at noon at The Red Legacy, 210 S. Hills Drive, Elizabethton.

• Saturday, Sept. 19
Rocky Top Gun Permit School will offer the enhanced handgun carry permit class at 135 Keenburg Road, Elizabethton, starting at 8:30 a.m. You may carry openly or concealed with this permit and is reciprocal in numerous other states. Ken Potter, a veteran law enforcement officer, is the instructor for the class. Rocky Top is one of the first schools to offer permit training and has been teaching the program since 1997. Cost of the class is $55. You will need to bring your weapon and 50 rounds of ammo. Potter says for those who haven’t yet purchased a gun, loaner guns are available. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carter County is mandating that all citizens wear a mask and observe social distancing. To enroll call 341-1709 or email Ken at kpotter641@yahoo.com. The Alzheimer’s Tennessee Caregiver Support Group, after not being able to meet in person since March, will meet the third Monday of each month at 12 p.m. at a new location of Memorial Presbyterian Church, 100 East F Street in Elizabethton. Social distancing requirements will be followed. The confidential group provides education, hope and encouragement to caregivers and family members of loved ones with Alzheimer’s disease or any related dementia. Participants can learn about  community resources, share coping techniques and gain insight and feedback from others who understand.
