The Elizabethton Elks Lodge in partnership with the Elks National Foundation donates $2500 to The Shepherds Inn – Safe House / Emergency Shelter for women and their children from domestic violence settings. As a recipient of the Gratitude Grant, The Shepherd’s Inn utilized the funding to supply the shelter with an updated security system, a clothes dryer, and multiple household items to support their residents. With domestic violence on the rise because of COVID-19 these items were critical to the safety and well-being of the residents of the shelter. The Shepherds Inn Executive Director Paul Gabinet says, “We are so grateful to the members of the Elizabethton Elks Lodge for supporting our shelter. Their amazing gifts will help to make a difference in the lives of many women in our community.” The Shepherd’s Inn has served the Elizabethton/ Carter County Community for 23 years.
