The first set saw a tug of war as neither team could pull away from the other. The two teams traded points all the way throughout the set.

The breakthrough came when Bailee Van Huss took over the serve for Elizabethton leading by 20-19 and the Lady Cyclones would score 5 consecutive points for the set win.

Up one set, the Lady Cyclones looked to continue rolling, but the Lady Patriots had other thoughts.

Elizabethton would jump out to a quick three-point lead behind excellent play from Mattie Davis, who had a terrific all-around game.

The Lady Patriots would rally, however, and the teams would trade blows for the entirety of the set. Sullivan East would rally down the stretch and even the game up at one set apiece.

The third set followed suit of the first two as the teams battled back and forth with no one getting an upper hand.

A few incredibly long rallies from the teams in the middle of the set were enthralling as neither team relented.

Up 15-14, the Lady Patriots went on a four-point tear and never looked back, taking the 3rd set 25-18.

This set up a do or die for the Lady Cyclones who seemed to be running on E after putting in such a spirited performance in the first three sets.

Elizabethton would jump out to the early lead in the fourth set, going up 5-1.

The Patriots were quick to rally and made the matchup even stevens at 6. From this point forward Sullivan East seemed to have all the momentum and went on to roll the Cyclones 25-17.

A lot of self-inflicted wounds on the part of the Cyclones, they’ll likely look back on this matchup with some regret. The good news, however, almost everything that went wrong for the Lady Cyclones is easily fixable.

Next up for the Lady Cyclones are the Sullivan South Lady Rebels which is Senior Night.
