Fresh faces needed in higher places

To the Editor:
America needs a good reaction “to get in good trouble.” Why burn time trying to convince “grumpy old men” to park it? FDR tried to reduce judges on the Supreme Court at the ripe old age of 70. The four-term giant caught more flack than flattery. Everett, Strom and ancient Mitch served kudzu terms. At some point weeding becomes an issue.
Look. College loans shackle the young; the national debt buries the young. Only this time we cannot fault the kids for adult mismanagement. If Lincoln were alive and well, the emancipator would be beard-deep in government debt.
At no point in modern history have we needed more fresh faces in high places. A transfusion improves outlook and production. When constraints tackle energy, in any setting, engage in light lit. Dig up Will Rogers, page Rick Bragg. You may not win a Pulitzer Prize or land on the front page of the New York Times, but, by Hemingway, will you ever reduce hurdles at the work place.
Those who roost in high places, encourage the young to replace the old.
