To the Editor:
Just read in the 10/21/20 Johnson City Press that the Diana Harshbarger campaign has spent $1,600,000, with $1,450,000 of that coming from Diana’s personal funds. Blair Walsingham has spent a meager $31,500.
Tennessee Congressional District one has been represented by millionaires for a long time. They have a big financial advantage in campaigning. The problem is that they have no real understanding about the way their constituents have to live.
While Americans love successful rich people, we also love to see an upset by the underdog, by someone like us. If you have ever imagined yourself picking up river rocks for David to sling at Goliath, or reloading the Kentucky Long Rifle for Davy Crockett at the Alamo here is your chance to live the dream.
