Saturday was a special day at Grindstaff Automotive Group as owners Steve and Ashley Grindstaff hosted a day to celebrate the brave men and women who make up our police force as a Back the Blue rally was held at the dealership on Elk Avenue in Elizabethton.
It was a full day as the Grindstaff’s had pony rides for the youngsters, food trucks, and several different booths set up for those who stopped in to take part in the special day.
An auction was held and donations were taken to support the police with the Grindstaff’s matching up to $25,000 of all money that was donated and raised in the auction.
Also, there was a MAGA rally as a number of vehicles drove from an earlier rally in Johnson City to Elizabethton to take part in the rally taking place at the local dealership.
Several vehicles with flags flying in support of the Back the Blue and President Trump arrived and parked around the dealership parking lot.
Two candidates running in the upcoming November 3rd election were also on hand to show their support to the Back the Blue rally as they encouraged everyone to get out and vote due to this election being such an important one.
First Congressional Republican candidate Diana Harshbarger was on hand and let those in attendance know that President Trump was impressed with the way his support is tracking in the state and also stating that she was a fighter and encourage everyone to go to the polls on Tuesday.
Tennessee State Representative John Holsclaw, Jr. was also on hand and shared how important it was for everyone to support the men and women that make up the police force not only in our area but nationwide.
