Robert O’Neill, a seven-year resident of Carter County, is celebrating his 100th birthday on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020. 
Mr. O’Neill was born and raised in Southwestern Pennsylvania and retired to Pinellas County, Fla., in 1980. He likes being a half-back here in Tennessee.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, serving most of his time in Alaska. He enjoys music, especially big band. He weaves, makes latch hook rugs, reads and is learning to play the piano.
