Marlene Rains Moffitt, 74, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 5, 2020, from Life Care Center of Elizabethton. Marlene was born in Elizabethton to the late Charles W. and Celia Williams Rains. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donnie Moffitt, and a great-grandson, Hayden Rains.
Marlene was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She loved coloring, in fact, she had won several coloring contests at Life Care during her stay there.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Steve Rains (Tresa Culler), Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Zachary Rains, Kelly Rains and Jacob Culler; two great-grandchildren, Ashlyn Rains and Ethan Rains; and a special friend, Ruth White.
A service to celebrate the life of Marlene Rains Moffitt will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, November 9, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from noon until 1 p.m. Monday, prior to the service. The graveside service will follow in the Colbaugh Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
