Overmountain Republican Women hold November meetings, events

The Overmountain Republican Women, along with “At Wit’s End Center & Equine Experience,” will host a Marsy’s Law Workshop on Domestic Violence on Friday, Nov. 13 at 5 p.m.
The workshop will cover how Tennessee legislation is working to assist domestic violence victims. Anyone interested can contact us through our Facebook page at Overmountain Republican Women-Carter County, TN.
On Wednesday, Nov. 18, the ORW will meet at 2 p.m. in the Elizabethton Star’s conference room. Speaker will be Nash Acuna, the President of the Elizabethton Arts & Cultural Alliance. She will be leading members through an art project during the meeting.
On Thursday, Nov. 19, the Overmountain Republican Women’s Community Meeting will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Elizabethton Star’s conference room. Upcoming projects for 2021 will be discussed. The Overmountain Republican Women would like to invite input from community members on any projects they might be aware of or have interest in that the ORW could be a part of.
The ORW’s Annual Self-Defense Class will take place on Saturday, Nov. 21, at Doe River Baptist Church, Elizabethton, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The class is open to the public. Participants must be at least 18 years old. The cost is $115 per person and should be paid at the time of registration.
Upon completion the participants will receive pepper spray, a taser, baton and permits needed to carry them. Last date to register is Nov. 13. Anyone interested can contact us through our Facebook page at Overmountain Republican Women-Carter County, TN.
