Inez Palmer, 81, of Roan Mountain, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 6, 2020, from Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Inez was born in the Shell Creek Community of Roan Mountain to the late Jacob and Joyce Cordell Young. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Frank Palmer, and a daughter, Danvert Palmer.
Inez was a wonderful homemaker, wife and mother and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include three children, Henry Palmer, of the home, Carmelita Whitehead and husband Jeffrey of Roan Mountain and Mildred Smith and husband Boyd of Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Elizabeth Whitehead and friend Jess Sharp, Mary Birchfield and husband Gregory, Jessica Whitehead and fiancé Seth Snyder, Raymond Whitehead and wife Olivia, Mitchell Whitehead and wife April and Marvin Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Tristan Birchfield, Cain Birchfield and Harper Smith.
A gathering of remembrance service to celebrate the life of Inez Palmer will be conducted from 4 until 6 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, in the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain. A private graveside service will be conducted in the Palmer Cemetery. Due to the current COVID-19 regulations, our staff is committed to taking care of our guests and families that we serve.
