Nancy Marie Hawks, 78, of Elizabethton, Tenn., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Johnson City Medical Center. She was born in Johnson City, Tenn., a daughter of the late Marvin Kenneth Begley and Theola Marie Kinley Begley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Glenda Williams.
Nancy was dearly loved by her family. She had a sweet soul and a wittiness about her like no other. She always had a smile on her face and a shrug on her shoulders. No matter what life threw her way that shrug it will all be alright was there. She battled long and hard with illness over the years but always kept that smile. She will truly be missed.
She is survived by her two children, Renee Hawks and Bryce Hawks and wife Angela; granddaughter, Sarah Hawks; grandson, Dalton Massey; two sisters, Connie Meador and husband Clifford, and Shirley Evans; and one brother, Kenny Begley.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, November 13, at 2 p.m. at the Upper Room Worship Center, 2220 Midway Street, Johnson City, Tenn. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900, Arlington, VA 22202.
